Lab Assignments for Week of 7 Oct
L5: Lab Homework Assignment
Design a case for your Arduino board in Autocad. Make sure your case meets the following criteria:
- Can easily be built out of cardboard (any type)
- Covers 3 sides of the board (leave the top open and the back open)
- Provides a method to mount the Arduino board that meets the
following requirements.
- The mount must secure the Arduino board to the case
- You may use up to 4 bolts and nuts, or 4 nails to secure the
board to the case. However, if you decide to use these parts, you
will have to provide them
- You may not rest the board directly on the cardboard. This is
primarily to minimize heat issues.
- If you want to insulate the Arduino board from the cardboard, you
may use a piece of plastic or tape. This may only be done at the
mounting points.
- Allows for cords and wires to easily reach the board
Please, make sure your drawings are properly AND clearly
labeled. Print the results out on a 1:1 scale. Don't forget to include
a title block on every page of your printout. Note --- If you run
into space issues, you may reduce the size of the font in the title
block. Also, include a separate page of written assembly
instructions. This will include details on how to glue, cut, and/or
tape the pieces together.
The goal of this project is to create an Arduino that can be easily
manufactured with the instructions you have provided. However, this
case also has to be a "solution." In other words, it will have to
meet all your needs during this class as well as be usable for others
after the class. All these factors will affect your grade.
