About Me:
I live in Florianopolis (Brazil), and I am an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil). I was awarded for one year Post-Doctoral Scholarship (July 2017 to July 2018), sponsored by Brazilian Program of Postdoctoral. Prof. Brad Lehman accepted to host me in this period as a researcher guest of the Power Electronics Research Group at Northeastern University. I decided to come here to look for new opportunities both with respect to research interests and collaborations.
Research Interests:
Interests include swithced-capacitor converters, Inverters to connected renewable source energy to the grid, rectifiers, parallel operation of converters, high-voltage dc-dc converters and conversion systems for small wind turbines.
Ongoing Projects:
Project: DC-AC Converters to Renewable Source Energy
Description: This work researches new boost inverters that offer an output voltage higher than input voltage, to be applied into renewable source energy as photovoltaic and low-power small wind Turbne Systems. This research approaches structures, modeling and control strategies.
Project: Switched-Capacitor Converters
Description: This work researches the integration between switched-capacitor and conventional converters, which can generate new topologies to dc-dc, ac-dc, ac-ac and dc-ac conversions. The proposal is to generate new topologies with a higher rate of conversion, which can be employed in current applications as renewable energy, battery charge an distributed generation.
