Biography

I am an Associate Research Scientist with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, working with Tommaso Melodia.
I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology in December 2016. My PhD advisor was Sajal K. Das, one of the most published and cited authors in the fields of computer networks and pervasive computing.
I received my B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering with highest honors from University of Pisa, Italy in 2009 and 2011, respectively. I also held a research position at the National Research Council of Italy, where I worked with Marco Conti. My M.S. advisor was Giuseppe Anastasi.

Research Interests

My research interests are at the crossroads of mobile systems, deep learning and embedded networks. In a nutshell, I study how to optimize mobile systems, software and hardware in order to support AI-driven wireless networking.
As part of my research, I research how to enable the execution of complex AI algorithms on resource-constrained devices such as wearable and IoT. Finally, I am also interested on using AI and classic optimization techniques to monitor and improve the performance of next-generation wireless and cellular networks.
