Merging fundamental research with real world applications, our research group attempts to improve the performance and reliability of high-frequency switch-mode converters and renewable energy systems. Annually composing of 7-10 graduate students, funded from industry and government labs, we have particular expertise in:

» Designing and building commercial-grade high power density DC-DC converters;

» Photovoltaic system design, modeling, protection, including inverters;

» Battery chargers for renewable energy systems;

» Digital controllers for the High-Brightness Light Emitting Diode applications;

» Modeling, simulation and control of power electronic systems.
