Simone Moretti is a Ph.D. student in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications and
Information Technology, from the University of Bologna, Italy.
In addition, he works as a project collaborator with the Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le
Telecomunicazioni (CNIT), Italy.
Simone received the Master's degree in Electronic and
Telecommunications Engineering in July 2009 from the University of Bologna, Italy.
His main research interest cover multimedia data processing and communications, radio resource optimization
and multi-source wireless communications systems. Simone is currently a visiting Ph.D. Student at the WiNES Lab, Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
Camera Ranking Selection Algorithms And Aggregated Data Transmission For Large Area Monitoring
In my research activity, the problem of camera selection in large camera networks is addressed by exploiting different camera ranking techniques. In a second stage, the selected video information must be reliably transmitted to the final user guaranteeing a certain quality level. In this regard, novel cross-layer adaptation strategies for multiple SVC videos delivered over wireless channel will be proposed. The objective is to optimize the resource allocation dynamically adjusting the overall transmitted throughput to meet the actual available bandwidth. |
