Abur and Hajjar Appointed University Distinguished Professors

ECE Professor Ali Abur and CDM Smith Professor and CEE Department Chair Jerome Hajjar were appointed the rank of University Distinguished Professor, the highest honor the university can bestow upon a faculty member. A committee of faculty members reviews the nominees for university distinguished professor and makes recommendations to the president and provost, who ultimately determine who among the candidates will be promoted to university distinguished professor.

Abur and Hajjar are both members of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and Hajjar is also president of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI).
