ECE Student Receives 2026 Outstanding PhD Student Award in Research

Nicolas Casilli, E’21, MS’21, PhD’26, electrical engineering, is the recipient of an Outstanding PhD Student Award in Research, which recognizes those who have shown an exceptional ability to conduct high-level research and make contributions to the scholarly literature in their fields.
Casilli received a BS and MS degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA, in 2021. He is currently pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Northeastern University’s Institute for NanoSystems Innovation, under the supervision of Associate Professor Cristian Cassella. His research interests include analog computing, radiofrequency microsystems, nonlinear dynamics, and remote sensing. He received the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium in 2023.
