ECE Student Receives Outstanding Master’s Student Award in Community Impact

Muhammad Elarbi, MS’26, electrical and computer engineering, received a Northeastern University Outstanding Master’s Student Award in Community Impact for his dedication to STEM education outreach and expanding access to technical knowledge for underrepresented students.

Elarbi was selected for his leadership in the Northeastern’s Wireless Club, where he designed and led over 50 technical workshops on RF systems, antenna design, and circuit debugging. This has provided invaluable learning opportunities for both university students and Boston Public School students. He also was recognized for his mentorship of students at Gompers Preparatory Academy in San Diego, Calif., where he helped low-income students become licensed amateur radio operators, an effort that demonstrated his deep commitment to ensuring that students from all backgrounds have access to STEM opportunities. Finally, he was selected for his outreach efforts to foster collaboration and innovation by connecting with amateur radio clubs across the globe.
