Northeastern Electric Racing (NER) Wins First Place in the Formula Hybrid+Electric Competition

Northeastern Electric Racing (NER) student organization won first place in the Formula Hybrid+Electric competition all-electric vehicle class.

NER is building an all-electric formula-style race car to compete in the Formula Hybrid+Electric SAE Collegiate Design Series competition organized by Dartmouth University. Over the course of the competition, the team must design, engineer, validate, and build a car to compete with top universities from around the world in the year-end events held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Over the last 3 years, NER has rapidly grown from a small group of COE students to over 90 students across 5 colleges at Northeastern, including nearly 20 from the ECE department. This is an especially impressive indicator of their growth as they are only in their second year competing, and their work over the past three semesters has primarily been completed virtually.

You can view their Spring 2021 semester newsletter for more information about their latest activities.
