Seizing the Power of Experiential Learning

Kaden Du, E’25, electrical and computer engineering, is taking full advantage of the experience-powered education at Northeastern. So far, he has conducted research in a faculty lab on energy efficient circuits and systems, worked on co-op on circuit board design and programming, joined the Generate student-led product development studio, and went on a Dialogue of Civilizations to Tanzania.

Electrical Engineer’s Path from the Dominican Republic to Northeastern University

Cesar Manuel De Oleo, E’26, electrical engineering, participated in the Undergraduate Program for Leaders In Future Transformation (UPLIFT) program. As a first-year student, he participated in research on parallel computing. He has learned buildup of C programming, algorithms, libraries, and programming in CUDA and help his research.

Harris Selected to Receive ACerS W. David Kingery Award

Vincent Harris, University Distinguished and William Lincoln Smith Professor, electrical and computer engineering, was selected to receive the American Ceramics Society’s W. David Kingery Award, which recognizes distinguished lifelong achievements involving multidisciplinary and global contributions to ceramic technology, science, education and art.

Discovering a Passion for Robotics through Research

Serena Lin, computer engineering, participated in the UPLIFT (Undergraduate Program for Leaders in Future Transformation Program) where she started research in her first semester as an undergraduate. With a variety of hands-on research experiences, including an NSF REU and working at the Institute for Experiential Robotics, Lin found her passion in robotics.

ECE PhD Student Awarded National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Research Fellowship

PhD student Jack Guida, electrical engineering, advised by Assistant Professor Siddharta Ghosh, was awarded a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Research Fellowship. He is researching microscale acoustics and integrated photonics as part of the Northeastern SMART research center.

Intro to Rocketry Program Lifts Off

The Intro to Rocketry – Airframe program successfully designed, built, tested, and launched five 6-8 foot L2 rockets in March, with some reaching heights as high as 3,600 feet. The launch was the culmination of two semesters of work by about 20 students plus five student mentors as part of Northeastern’s AerospaceNU club.
