Inaugural College of Engineering Young Alumni Impact Award Recipients

With only one awardee for each engineering discipline, this is an elite achievement. Alumna Develops Award-Winning E-Commerce Platform and Lands Job at Google
Fatema Janahi, E’22, computer engineering, MS’22, engineering management and Galante engineering business certificate, developed Palm, a fashion e-commerce platform in the Middle East and North Africa, received a 2024 Women Who Empower Innovator Award from Northeastern, and is working as a technical program manager at Google.

John Malgeri, E’78, electrical engineering, completed his co-ops at Consolidated Edison Inc. of New York after pursuing an opportunity offered to him while still in high school. His co-ops allowed him to discover career interests through experience and taught him communicative skills that were essential to his decades-long career in electric and gas operations.

Mahshid Asri, PhD’24, electrical engineering, who as a student was a researcher at SENTRY and ALERT research centers, is a new postdoctoral research associate in SENTRY’s Advanced Sensing Technologies research area, working on the Stationary and Aerial Based Radio Frequency/Radar Detection of Drones and Concealed Threats project.
