COE Alum nominated by President Obama to Chief Counsel for Advocacy, Small Business Administration
Winslow Sargeant, an '86 graduate with a bachelors’s degree in electrical engineering, has been nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the Small Business Administration. Dr. Sargeant is currently the managing director of Madison-based Venture Investors.

ECE Assistant Professor Mehmet Dokmeci has developed a method of using Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWNT) on complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) circuitry that will lead to the creation of new sensor systems.

Getting the Most out of the Coop Experience
Sean Mayo, a 2009 graduate of ECE, using the experiences he gained from the classroom and coop, has landed himself a dream job at Apple. He already has several patents from working there on his last coop. Sean was recently awarded the William Jefferson Alcott Award for his outstanding performances.

Capstone students create 3D Computer Interface
Five seniors from ECE are the 1st place winners of the 2009 Senior Capstone projects. Justin Schunick, Mark Hollenbeck, Luke Shaheen, Scott Gillette, and Glenn Black built a low-cost human computer interface that tracks a user's movement.
