New Class of CMOS Chips To Address Quantum Computing Bottlenecks
ECE Associate Professor Cristian Cassella and Professor Marvin Onabajo are developing CMOS-based chips that are smaller and more energy efficient than current technology used to address quantum computing bottlenecks. High school students in Northeastern’s Young Scholars program will participate in this project.

Mosallaei One of Most-Read Authors of Advanced Theory and Simulations
ECE Professor Hossein Mosallaei’s paper “Active Metasurfaces for Non‐Rigid Light Sail Interstellar Optical Communication” which was published in Advanced Theory and Simulations, was ranked within the top 10% of most-viewed papers published by the journal in 2023.

Fu Addresses US Congressional Hearing on Cybersecurity Risks in Medical Devices
ECE Professor Kevin Fu raised concerns about the vulnerability of medical equipment to cybersecurity attacks when he spoke at a U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing. Fu served as the first director of medical device security at the Food and Drug Administration from 2021-2022.
