Stojanovic Awarded IEEE WICE Outstanding Achievement Award
ECE Professor Milica Stojanovic was awarded the 2019 IEEE Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) Outstanding Achievement Award for having done outstanding technical work in the broad field of communications engineering, and achieved a high degree of visibility in the field.

Electrical Engineering PhD students Can Qin, Lichen Wang, Yulun Zhang, and Professor Yun “Raymond” Fu’s paper, “Generatively Inferential Co-Training for Unsupervised Domain Adaptation,” was awarded the Best Paper Award in the The International Workshop and Challenge on Real-World Recognition from Low-Quality Images and Videos (RLQ), in conjunction with International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) 2019.

Upstage Lung Cancer Funds Biomarker Sensor Project Supporting Early Lung Cancer Detection
Boston-based organization Upstage Lung Cancer (ULC), the advocacy non-profit exclusively utilizing performing arts to raise awareness and funding in the fight against lung cancer, has awarded a $30k grant award to ECE Professor Nian Sun’s cutting edge Advanced Materials and Microsystems Laboratory (AMML), substantially funding a new research project exploring the use of a hand-held gas screening sensor system for breath biomarkers in the early detection screening of lung cancer.
