SC22 Demo Shows Record Performance for NDN-based Data Delivery Platform
The NSF-supported multi-university N-DISE (NDN for Data-Intensive Science Experiments) project, led by ECE Professor Edmund Yeh, has finished a highly successful demo at SC22 in Dallas. The Northeastern-Caltech-UCLA-Tennessee Tech team demonstrated a record average throughput of 50 Gbps and peak throughput of 63 Gbps for the N-DISE data delivery platform on a transcontinental wide area network testbed.

ECE Assistant Professor Xiaolin Xu and student Tong Zhou, PhD’25, and coauthor Dr. Shaolei Ren from UC Riverside, received the IEEE/ACM William J. McCalla ICCAD Best Paper Nomination, at the 2022 International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (IEEE/ACM ICCAD, San Diego, CA), for their paper titled “ObfuNAS: A Neural Architecture Search-based DNN Obfuscation Approach”.

Seeing Code in Real Life: A Co-op Journey into Robotics
Computer Engineering student Joseph Berman has taken advantage of Northeastern’s experiential learning opportunities. After completing a co-op at Amazon Robotics, he worked in the robotics lab of Associate Professor Taskin Padir, who is also director of the Institute of Experiential Robotics. He is now on co-op in Japan working at Mujin, a startup based in Tokyo with additional branches in Georgia and China. Mujin creates software for industrial robots controlled by a central artificial intelligence hub.
